How We Started with Merino

In 2024, we launched our very first collection made from merino wool. A base layer is simply essential, and we wanted ours to be perfect.

We spent a long time searching for the best material that would meet all our requirements. The goal was clear: find the highest-quality, softest merino wool available in our region. We experimented, tested, and refined the perfect composition. We wanted to create the best possible blend, with the highest proportion of merino wool and the smallest possible amount of synthetics. We also tested the ideal percentage of Lycra so that the garments would be stretchy enough without losing their shape.

Once we found the ideal material, we could finally focus on developing the best possible cut. We tested it on different body types to create well-fitting shirts for the widest range of customers.

And that’s how “our merino” was born. The shirts feature flat seams that never dig in. The sleeves are slightly longer so that they don’t ride up the elbows during movement on deck. The body of the shirt is also longer to protect the back when pulling ropes. Side seams are tailored to ensure the shirt hugs the body beautifully.

The entire merino collection is made from the softest Australian ultrafine wool (16.5 µm), certified “Mulesing free,” meaning the sheep are treated ethically and are not subjected to live skin removal. The wool is knitted in the Czech Republic.
